TurnMobile   -   Traffic-data for Urban Rail Networks from Mobile Phones

Promotion:

FFG, I2V

Partner:

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH

Wiener Linien GmbH & Co KG

Time span:

06/2011 – 05/2013

Aims / contents:

The project TurnMobile investigates and develops methods to generate passenger movement trajectories from anonymous mobile phone service data of A1 Telekom Austria. This results in exemplified mode specific origin-destination matrices for public transport in Vienna. As an archetypical application the use of the developed methods will be shown for multi modal strategic traffic management and short term perturbation management.

TrafficCheck.at   -

An online-platform developed by user innovation for evaluation of crossings with signalisation

Promotion:

FFG, ways2go

Partner:

Fluidtime Data Services GmbH

FACTUM Chaloupka & Risser OHG

Technische Universität Wien, Institut für Verkehrssystemplanung

Time span:

12/2010 – 11/2012

Aims / contents:

In the project TrafficCheck.at an online-platform is developed by user innovation for intuitive evaluation of the subjective transport safety and quality by the example of street junctions with signalisation. TrafficCheck.at forms a new background to integrate the point of view of pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles in a modern quality management system for traffic lights. A beta version of the online-platform is commissioned and tested on an investigation area in Graz.

Eko ZAra   -   Emissionsminimierende koordinierte Zuflussregelungen an Autobahnrampen

Promotion:

FFG, I2V

Partner:

TU-Graz – Institut für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen
TU-Graz – Institut für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen und Thermodynamik

Time span:

2010 – 2012

Aims / contents:

In Eko ZAra, a coordinated ramp metering system will be developed with minimisation of total traffic emissions on the motorway and the surrounding urban roads networks as an objective function. An existing subarea network containing a motorway with several entrances and connecting urban roads will be modelled with a microscopic traffic simulator and an instantaneous emission model.

ROdEM   -   RaumnutzungsOptimierung durch EmissionMinimierung

Promotion:

FFG, ways2go

Partner:

TU-Graz, TU-Dresden (service contract)

Time span:

2008 – 2010

Aims / contents:

General aims:

Ø       Elaboration of a new model to optimize the utilisation of space with minimum environmental pollution

Ø       Integration of traffic and effect modelling of traffic pollutant emissions in an integrated modelling circle to picture interactions between

·          arrangement of land use

·          transport demand

·          traffic offered

·          and combined environmental effects

Ø       Use of number of habitants and jobs as endogenous variable

Ø       Possibility of optimizations in local area planning

Modelling aims:

Ø       Minimization of negative environmental effects of traffic

Ø       Considering all road users

Ø       Combination of pollutant emissions with minimization of vehicle miles travelled and space-oriented immissions as secondary condition
